In this section you will find step by step instructions on how to add the header graphic to the TABLE you've inserted in your new web page.
By the time you're finished with this section you will have added your graphic header inside the table on your page and will be ready to add your sales copy, web page text, links, images and so forth.
|
Step One: Add the Header To Your Web Page |
Step 1.1:
Open FirstPage and go to the menu bar to choose FILE: OPEN
Step 1.2:
Select your webpage.html page
Step 1.3:
When your webpage.html page is open, click with your mouse in the top area where your header is going to be.
In the image below you will see where the cursor is located (right in the middle) and once you've clicked with your cursor there, you simply need to insert the image.
(The area where you click has a little bit of yellow highlighting in the screen capture below, just to make sure you're able to see where to click.)

When you've clicked in the middle of the first row, go to the next step to see how to insert the graphic header image.
Step 1.4:
If you want to insert your graphic header as ONE image (versus splitting it into multiple fast loading images using the steps in the video below) choose INSERT > IMAGE QUICKLY

Step 1.5:
Then browse your hard drive for the header graphic you created and saved as header.gif or header.jpg

Step 1.6:
When you have found the image just click the OPEN button and it'll place the image into your table at the top, where the cursor was placed.

Step 1.7:
When you've inserted the image into your table, click FILE > SAVE and choose to save the page as "webpage.html"
WHAT HAPPENS NEXt
At this point you've got the basics of your web page created. You have the graphic header inserted into the top of the table and have saved your work as webpage.html
In the next steps you'll be adding things like sales copy, information about the product or service you are selling, links to other pages you may want to create or link to and any other page contents you want to include.
IF YOUR GRAPHIC HEADER FILE SIZE IS LARGER THAN 25 KB
Please Note: If the total file size of your graphic header is larger than 25 KB, then you may want to consider "slicing" it into multiple fast loading images.
To find out the total size of your graphic header image just open the .jpg or .gif image in Photoshop Elements.
Then go to the FILE MENU and choose FILE: SAVE FOR WEB.
When the SAVE FOR WEB options box is open, look at the bottom left corner for the file details:

** YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS BONUS **
If you see YELLOW highlighted text above that says "Eligible For Bonus", then that means you can immediately access the "Image Slicing" video bonuses using the TWO video links below.
Just click to watch the steps on how to use the free online image slicer.
Next, watch the second part of the video series to see how to ADD the newly sliced image to your web page:
The video above shows you how to take the sliced image and HTML code from the online image slicer and add that to your web page.
